Okay so I've saved not just 15 songs, but actually 69 songs. Yeap, no kidding. That's a lot of songs. I'm glad I did that first before reformatting my computer. So Claire asked me how I did it when my com can't even work for 30seconds. It's kinda simple really, my dad taught me.
Firstly, you needa know that Computers that run on Windows OS boots up from the HDD, the internal built-in one. Your stuff are all saved inside it too. And since my songs are inside that HDD, and since my com doesn't work, there's something wrong with the HDD.
Basically, I need to access my HDD, but without booting up from it. So here's the tricky part. Since you know that your HDD also is a super big thumbdrive, you plug your HDD into another working computer to access the files inside.
But wait Sam!! That doesn't make sense!! Are you telling me to connect my desktop computer to another computer by USB?!
---no im not.
Firstly, whether your computer is a desktop or a laptop, it runs on that HDD (which can be replaced; ie: it can be removed from the laptop/desktop casing).
So that's pretty much what you need to do. Take out that big (or not so big) thumbdrive and with the right wires and cables and a power adaptor, you can connect that HDD/thumbdrive to a working computer and from there, access your files.
And that is what I did. I accessed my so files that way, and transferred the songs that I have not backed up into my spare HDD (the one that I back up my files into). It's a pretty neat trick. I'm pretty sure all the techies out there know this. But yeah.
Things might get even more tricky if you're trying to access your desktop files, especially if you have a password to your account; it's an extra step.
